Spatialisation using Sounding Objects
نویسندگان
چکیده
A new approach to spatialisation, based on the idea of projecting sounds through virtual sounding objects, is proposed, and initial experiments are carried out using a modal synthesis model of a rectangular membrane. The effects of varying the dimensions and damping parameters of the model on the perception of spatial attributes are discussed, as well as the relevance to sound diffusion.

متن کاملAssessment of sound spatialisation algorithms for sonic rendering with headsets
Given an input sound signal and a target virtual sound source, sound spatialisation algorithms manipulate the signal so that a listener perceives it as though it were emitted from the target source. There exist several established spatialisation approaches that deliver satisfactory results when loudspeakers are used to playback the manipulated signal. As headphones have a number of desirable ch...
متن کاملEstimation of Hydrodynamic Coefficients of Zouzan Plain Aquifer Using of Electrical Sounding Data
Knowledge of hydrodynamic coefficients is necessary for the determination of natural water flow through an aquifer and management of ground water resource. In this study, in order to determination of hydrodynamic coefficients of Zouzan aquifer results of 112 electrical sounding have been used. Quantitative interpretation was done by using IPI2WIN. Values of formation factor and porosity were de...
متن کاملInteractive Simulation of Complex Audiovisual Scenes
We demonstrate a method for efficiently rendering the audio generated by graphical scenes with a large number of sounding objects. This is achieved by using modal synthesis for rigid bodies and rendering only audible modes. We present a novel real-time algorithm which estimates modal excitations, based on the masking characteristics of the human auditory system, and eliminates modes which are e...
